It all Started in 1906...

With his life savings and some old tools, P.A Fisker, the founder of Nilfisk, moved to Copenhaen in 1906 to start his far-sighted production of small electric motors in a backyard workshop. He later developed a partnership with a colleague, H.M. Nielsen, to form 'Fisker & Nielsen' which in 1910 became 'Nilfisk'. Throughout its history, Nilfisk has been delivering reliable quality cleaning equipment for the commercial and industrial sectors as well as allergy responsive and High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) equipped vacuum cleaners for the domestic market.

Nilfisk has grown to become a global enterprise and is dedicated to offering a wide range of cleaning equipment and appliances. Today, Nilfisks' product range is the most extensive in the industry.

Over the years, Nilfisk developed a relationship with NASA, playing an important role in NASA"s pre-flight preparation. For more than 20 years, Nilfisk's industrial vacuums have been used for decontamination of the Space Shuttle's cargo bay before the doors are closed prior to launch. Nilfisk ensures the successful decontamination of the Space Shuttle's cargo bay and whilst being world leaders, have beyond doubt perfected this to an extreme.

The history of Nilfisk also plays a key rold in providing high quality vacuum cleaners to the domestic and consumer market. Nilfisk has successfully supplied high HEPA grade vacuum cleaners which are fitted with a HEPA H14 filter.
